UPDATE: Chris Dempsey of The Denver Post reports that Denver Nuggets F Carmelo Anthony has missed eight straight games with a sprained left ankle, but does appear to be closing in on playing either against Dallas or Thursday against San Antonio.
FANTASY IMPACT: Anthony has not played since January 23, where he dropped 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against the New Orleans Hornets. He may be safe to throw back into you lineups this week against the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs. But just in case, pick up Nuggets G J.R. Smith if you can. Smith is averaging 20.3 points per game over his last three.
